Growing Pains: (Parenting Course in 2000 )

Growing pain is a parenting course we organised in partnership with Barnardos to give mother more confidence in dealing with their children. We organised three courses throughout the year. The course helped women to feel better about talking to teacher about their children's behaviour. With funding made available from Special Support Programme for Reconciliation we were able to help towards the cost of travelling to our premises in Mount Charles and provide light refreshments. Some of the women went down the path of accreditation for this course.

During the year we organised two Parenting courses with funding from the Northern Bank and the N.I.V.T. Small Grants Programme giving women the opportunity to work with Barnardo’s to build confidence in dealing with their family problems. The course enabled women to communicate better with teachers about children’s behaviour, make firm decisions for teenagers and cope with tantrums of small children.

We had only one Parenting Course this year due to lack of staff but the women who participated had the great opportunity to work with Barnardo’s to build confidence in dealing with their children and working through their family problems. The course enabled women to communicate better with teachers about children’s behaviour, make firm decisions for teenagers and cope with tantrums of small children.

Communication With Kids (2003)

This year, we organised a Communication with Kids course from 21st March to 23rd May. This time we used communities facilitators . And  another communication With Kids course, we are going start on Friday 26 September. For more information click on to September Newsletter .
