This years annual residential was enjoyed by women from areas throughout Belfast. Some women from Zimbabwe and India joined us and were made very welcome. They gave us examples of Zimbabwe dance and songs at the social evening on Friday night giving a flavour of their culture. We also had short humorous sketches from two of the groups and jokes and songs were enjoyed into the wee hours. The workshops on Saturday were Conflict Management and Integrated Education and these gave plenty of scope for debate and discussion. W omen’s Information Group’s Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday morning and we were joined by representatives from some of our funders. The meeting was chaired by Kate Kelly, Chairperson who outlined the work of the past year, Mary Leonard, Treasurer, gave account of the money received and the projects it enabled the organisation to undertake. Participants at the AGM commented on aspects of the Information Days and the residential they enjoyed, made a difference to them and also improvement for the Residential (no bunk bed)Photo Gallery |
